Staying Alive Soundtrack

For whatever reason, I wake in the morning feeling as if I didn't get a wink of sleep.  This may sound like a broken record however, it is true.  Every night around 3 AM Kasia comes in (from her bedroom), puts her nose on my side of the bed, whimpers a little, and then we head to the back door for a potty break.  Then, she comes inside and we all get in bed together.  Snuggle time = the best time.  5:45 AM comes fast and Chris' alarm goes off.  The dog becomes extra snuggly and the bed then pulls me into its tractor beam making it almost impossible for me to get out.  Enter: the fatigue.

Pre-preggo I would get up with Chris and hit the showers immediately.  Now, if I make it to the shower before 6:30, I'm a winner.  No lie, I know once I shower I'll wake up however, its those few steps to actually get under the shower nozzle that seem impossible.  Today is like every other day since being with calf..... tired.  It's 9:24 AM CST and I'm plugging away but I know once lunchtime hits, I'll want to nap under my desk.

Carrie and her friend Elisabeth are coming to town this weekend.  Fist pumps all around.  The plan is to do some light planting and tackle at least one of my flower beds.  My goal is to have 90% perennials so the yearly cost of planting new flowers decreases.  Below are pictures of gardens that I absolutely love and someday, will achieve (if Chris will allow it):

Our house is still requiring some aesthetic modifications (new siding, new entry door) however, if you can pimp your house with gorgeous flowers, all things can be made nice.  Not a whole lot of peeps on our street take landscaping seriously (like I do) so when our flowers get planted, our house is literally the best of the block.  If you take our house out of the equation, Perry Drive mostly consists of lava rocks, bright red mulch (gross), LOTS of lawn ornaments and a shit ton of arborvites.  Gross.  The object of landscaping is to create a lovely flow of size, texture and thrill.  See below:
