WAAAAYYYY overdue

I got an email from my friend Tracy taking note of how I haven't updated my blog lately.  Whoopsies.  Life around the Willis house has been nothing but CRAY.  Let me elaborate:

Beau will welcome a sibling sometime around May 22.  Yep.  I'm pregaroonie.  The first 10 weeks were hell on wheels.  Literally.  Dry heaving, EXHAUSTED and flu-like all day every day.  Not my cup of tea while chasing around a 15-month old.  Poor Shep.  He probably was thinking, "What the 'h' is wrong with my momma?"  Now that I'm past the first trimester, I'm feeling less barfy but still tired.  Like..... in bed every night by 8 kinda tired.  Its very hard to maintain the house when I'm outta gas by 8.  Oh well.  How do Mormons do it?  8 kids?  Holy crap.  I have ONE and I'm needing a drum of Red Bull to keep me going.  (Sidenote:  I do NOT drink Red Bull and haven't in a few years.  That shit is horrible tasting and horrible for you.  Fact.)

On a sad note......  and this has fallen very close to my heart......  our dear friend Kristy suffered a massive brain bleed a week after having her first born son.  Mason is now a month old and to help out, we watch little "Cubbie" Monday-Friday all day.  While Kristy remains in a coma, Mason is officially our surrogate son and being loved/hugged/kissed/licked and all other things while hanging out here.

Kristy's progress is VERY slow... but steady..... she has many people praying for her EVERY day and wishing for a full and speedy recovery.  I hope by Christmas she has opened her eyes and is "awake", interacting with people.  I have made the choice to not visit her in the rehab facility for 2 reasons:

1.)  I dont do well when I see my friends in pain .... I get too emotional, especially since I'm preggo.

2.)  I think Kristy wouldn't want me at her bedside.  While we are good friends, we maintain a friendship much like teammates; supportive, share a laugh/beer, exchange secrets....  We are not sappy. Lots of high fives.  Put it this way:  If Kristy woke up and I was sitting next to her, she would ask why the hell I'm there and b.) be pissed that she hasn't had her hair cut/colored in such a long time.  That's a friend.  FACT.

So, with all the highs and lows lately, Chris and I took a Mexican vacation.  A much needed break/honeymoon, we had a fantastic time.  Chris and I laid by the pool all day.  85 and sunny is pretty hard to trump.  The only better thing would've been a puppy petting farm next door.  Shep was in good hands at my sister's in Fort Wayne, too.  Chris and I now want to do a warm weather vacay once a year-- a must do to maintain a healthy partnership (in my book).

Thanksgiving hath come and gone, so I now I can focus on the important shit.  Christmas.  Bring it Clark W.  I've mapped out my exterior light plan and just need to figure out how to execute flawlessly.  Time is of the essence, so I'd like to have it completed by next weekend.  Fingers crossed.
