Veneers

I had my 6 month tooth cleaning today.  I should rename this "Make the Teeth Bleed Day."  Holy crap.  I forgot (in the very small amount of reading I have done as an expectant mother) that gums have enhanced sensitivity while pregnant.  Correction, I am WELL aware that my gums are more sensitive because they bleed like the dickens when I brush and floss...  Throw in some dental hygienist expertise = hurting mouth.

Blessed with a healthy set of teeth, gums and all things mouth-related, I pulled out of Roselle Dental with a clean bill of health.  The irony to all this is that my hubbie has a dentist appt tonight with Dr. Moorman.  Chris hates the dentist.  It's no wonder why-- he hasn't been blessed with an awesome grill.  Cavities, root canals, tooth grinding..... you name it.... he's got it.  Thankfully he brushes his teeth everyday (unlike SOME guys I have dated in the past DERRICK NOSAL, who choose NOT to EVER BRUSH their teeth.... SICK).  We will "have words" if by some chance Chris' teeth start falling out due to periodontal disease.  I think for Father's Day I'll opt for the Sonicare tooth brush (Calli Long is my Sonicare in-house professional) as a gift for Mr. Willis.

Take-a-ways from today's dental visit:

1.)  Brush twice a day and floss at least ONCE
2.)  Listerine is a great way to ward off hurties in your mouth (if you're prone to such annoyances)
3.)  Water is great way to flush out yuckies after eating-- a big gulp followed by some "swishing" does the trick
4.)  Crest Whitestrips are an effective and inexpensive way to whiten teeth (use sensitive toothpaste in the process)
5.)  Brush your tongue-- it may make you gag, but it gets the yuckies off

In other news.....  Chris re-sodded parts of our backyard yesterday.  Boy, does it make a world of difference.  Now, Kasia won't be able to pull any of her Secretariat shit in the back when she gets excited (running laps with a stick in her mouth).  Sod needs to take root and requires up to a month of "grass relaxation" (as I like to call it) to get settled.  I guess Kasia will have to go to Sadie's to play and work out her thigh/gluteal muscles.

Sunday will be my last day in the Second Trimester....  Boo, I'm so pissed.  Can you hear the sadness in my voice?  No?  That's because I'm not sad.  I'm not down with being pregnant.  I feel bigger than the mom from "What's Eating Gilbert Grape."  Additionally, any time my taste buds want to start working again is fine with me.
