Liters and Celsius

I love and hate Canada all at the same time.  While Calgary is at the top of my list for "Most Awesome Places to Potentially Live," Toronto sits in the bowels of "Least Favorite Cities in the Whole Wide World."  I flew to Toronto on Tuesday for a quick overnight-- between the mild earthquake (epicenter located hundreds of miles away in near DC), being felt up by Canadian Airport Security and the lack of Bravo on the hotel's cable station, I was happy to be back on US soil yesterday.  Did I mention that in Toronto, oddly-stacked bob haircuts are all-the-rage amongst 20-something females?

On the flipside, I dig score an awesome Canadian hockey hoodie at the Duty Free shop AND engaged in the viewing of a HURLING match.  New favorite sport.  Must learn to play.  Stat.

Perhaps if it was mid-February and the NHL was all over television, my trip would have been more pleasant?  Who knows.... all I know is that generally speaking, Americans bitch way TOO much about our neighbors to the great white north.  I believe this is centered around a happy ignorance that Americans have in thinking the US is the greatest place.  For the record, Canadians love being Canadian.  Secondly, if you haven't seen the Canadian Rockies, you're missing out on one of the most beautiful sites on Earth.  And last..... I thank God everyday for bringing me Ryan Reynolds, Darren McCarty and Hockey Night in Canada.
